Fabrication
104 individual veneer strips laminated and pressed into custom CNC molds to create the continuous structural frame.
01
CNC Mold
→
Custom molds were CNC milled to the precise radius and thickness of the frame.
02
Veneer Layup & Clamping
→
104 white oak veneer strips were glued and hand-laid into the mold in sequence, then clamped and pressed to ensure pressure and a strong, consistent bond.
03
Shaping & Sanding
→
Once removed from the mold, the frame is shaped, refined, and sanded by hand.
04
Upholstered Cushions
High-density foam was cut to shape and upholstered to fit the curved geometry of the frame while allowing the cushion to be easily removed.
